A Disrespect to Literature

I really don't care it's their prerogative. Most of us said marumi and the remaining students said hindi. My classmate showed us how people have different perceptions in life.

You really have to do this?) tsaka yung pumili daw ng pinaka gusto mong post niya tapos reason out mo kung bakit mo nagustuhan yun at pag ikaw ang napili bibigyan ka ng prize (Seriously ulit?!

Payak siyang mag kwento ngunit may lalim.

  1. I don't believe that every piece should be deep. Maybe it's one way of expression and blog interaction the author is trying to start.

  2. Did I mention anything that every post should be deep? I myself cannot do that all the time.

  4. No need to stress over it.

    1. I kinda thought of brushing it aside but then I realized that I'm part of this whole circle and I have (littlest) responsibility and obligation to make this world a better place. Choz! to maintain its highest credo and authenticity.

I've been reading your blog since I stumble upon your story about you and your mother and the PC. Hehehe! and wala naman akong nakikitang mali sa mga pakulo mo or bias lang ako? Lels

"One day that's going to make a difference. It might not be a really big difference but at least it's something,"

      and

"If every person would do that, we would have such a great world, It would be awesome."

  7. well, i dont think its enough answer thats why i asked again. we are different people. our blog contents are different. we think differently. why should we conform to the norms set by one when writing is universal in a sense? we entertain differently as we are entertained by different means.

its very clear na sarado utak mo. you are trying to model blogs to ur own preference and i dont think thats quite fair. i understand u. i understand this post. i just dont agree

Eto pagkakaiba natin. I never inflicted nor imply my beliefs to others forcefully. I am just highly opinionated and that doesn't make me any of your accusations to me. Again.... Highly opinionated not communist.

Pero bago ako magpatuloy I would first declare that I am guilty as charged here. Later on, I will explain why.

Hindi ko tuloy alam kung paano sisimulan after reading the comments here but I'd like to share my piece of sh*t. hehehe!

I don't think that blogging is ruining literature at all. I think it's just become a medium for literature to thrive and evolve (or devolve). In medieval times in Italy, it was a rule that artists and writers must right in ecclesiastical latin because it was the correct thing to do and because that was the standard of medieval literature. Pero dumating si Dante Alighieri with his Divine Comedy, and the whole medieval literary world was shaken. Why? He used the volgare, or the vulgar language, which is Florentine Italian. It was unusual to write literary masterpieces in the vulgar language. It was taboo and for the ignorant. However, Dante started a trend that shaped Italian literature and culture, and even the literary trend in Europe. Everybody wrote in their own 'vulgar language' or local dialect/language.

Mag mula noon ipinanganak na ang Italian literature and language.

What I'm saying is, as time goes by, literature will take another form- whether it becomes the divine beauty of ancient literature, or the immaculate beauty of Medieval Latin, or the crude and lewdness of the 'Volgare' writing.

And i think the same thing is happening right now, with the democratization of the art of writing, and the possibility of a 15-minute-fame-whoreness, literature is taking a new form. The Old Guards of the Literature will still be a factor in its evolution but one thing is certain, they won't be able to keep it the way it was during the golden days of their creativity, and literature will change, either for better or for worse, and we won't be able to do anything about it. There's the good, the bad, and the really pathetic, and Literature will pick one of them or two or all three to be her new face.

Now it's 4:08 AM here, and I just finished a glass of wine, and I'm not anymore sure if I'm making any sense here pero ipagpapatuloy ko pa rin.

Now before the blog era and the internet age, we all had those black notebooks where we keep our secrets, thoughts, unsaid opinions, and best of all, the poems and stories. Those were our incubators of our imagined novels and books which we will publish in the future. At that time, the circle of writers who basked in the prestige and honor in the art of writing was very small. Writers were only those who could have their stories published in magazines, newspapers, and books. Literature lived on that.

Now, there's what we call a "democratization" of the art of writing. And suddenly, everybody gets a piece of that prestige and honor. Dito naglitawan lang ang mga frustrated writers and frustrated poets, and I'm one of them.

Hmm.... malayo na sa topic. Sige, ito na...

i think we should focus on the figure of the blogger as the new form of an artist. Every artist must have a purpose- either to destroy the establishment in the world of culture, create a new school of thought, or strengthen the current trend.

  18. Part 2...

i think we should focus on the figure of the blogger as the new form of an artist. Every artist must have a purpose- either to destroy the establishment in the world of culture, create a new school of thought, or strengthen the current trend.

Bloggers must have a purpose, an order of ethics, and at the same time, a certain style. ABOVE ALL, CORRECT GRAMMAR. Hehehe!

I really have nothing against interviewing or featuring bloggers, whether their works are as sublime as Kant's or as trashy as the tweets of Former-Disney-Stars-Now-Turned-STupid-Twerking Bitch. It just establishes the reality of the figure of a blogger as a new form of a writer/artist/whatever-you-call-it. I mean, it is a fact that the blog has been a powerful tool to scare the shit out of those senators when they passed the Anti-Cyber Crime Law and forced them to make amendments afterwards. It is a fact that bloggers were influential in encouraging an outraged population to make a stand against those pork-barrel fucktards. And yet, some troll in the Senate undermined the role and figure of bloggers (hindi ikaw Senator Sotto ang pinatatamaan ko, t*ng*na ka!).

So to feature a blogger is not harmful to literature.

I thought I'd be talking to myself and to the wall forever. Hehehe!

Just saying! Masaya akong nakatambay dito. Weheheh!
